An unexpected £1m bonus Systems Union Group

Background:

• Systems Union is a UK-based, high-end accountancy software business with offices in 13 countries
• They were producing a video to educate their customers worldwide about a new "add-on" to its most popular piece of software
• Aimed at systems administrators and software deployment specialists, this was a complex task, given the particularly sophisticated nature of their product
• In-house "techies" were given the job of presenting the video

Solution:

• A day's group coaching session for the presenters with particular focus on bringing the subject alive for an international audience
• This resulted in us also winning the business of actually producing the video
• We re-wrote the script for greater clarity, simultaneously cutting the projected running time of the video in half, resulting in significant cost-savings
• We produced, directed and edited the video including complex graphics to illustrate the concept

Results:

• The video was deemed to be such a success that all customers - not just those who'd purchased this new software add-on - received the film
• This resulted in over £1 million of unexpected orders, directly attributable to the presentation
• Subsequently, all their on-screen presenters received training from us and we produced further training films for the organisation
