- Over the past
fifteen years, our client had built up a strong and rapidly expanding
recruitment business, with a presence in several major UK cities.
Wanting to take life a little easier, he'd been looking for a buyer
and a large European conglomerate had expressed an interest. The decision
to buy hung on a presentation - including extensive use of PowerPoint
and much financial information - he had to give to the company's board,
scheduled in a matter of days. He described himself as a "technical"
person who wasn't comfortable giving such presentations and, in a
panic, he came to us at the last minute. The day before his presentation
he spent four hours ("Fast-Track
Executive Coaching") with our principal, Glenn Kinsey, who watched
him blossom from a nervous speaker into a confident, self-assured
presenter. We received an elated call of thanks the next day, minutes
after the board had agreed to buy his business on the spot.

Power
- This leading
London hair and beauty salon group - fronted by a former British Hairdresser
of the Year - felt their 80 staff needed a boost. After
providing an early morning 3-hour, "Communication
Power!" seminar for the entire group - from the finance director
to salon juniors - our client described very positive
results, with a reported marked increase in revenue along with the
ability to better serve their clients. We were immediately scheduled
to provide a further seminar as well as provide one-on-one coaching
to their top team.

Live
via Satellite...
- Our client - the Chairman of a £3 billion
turnover FTSE 100 group specialising in aerospace equipment manufacture
- was due to deliver a presentation to an audience of over 300 employees
at a company conference in the United States. What was different about
this event was the fact that he'd be delivering it live, via satellite,
from a London studio - starting with a 20 minute presentation using
an on-camera Autocue teleprompting system, before taking questions
from the audience across the Atlantic and exchanging impromptu banter
with the MC at the Stateside conference. A busy man and a novice Autocue
reader, we were allocated just 60 minutes prior to the presentation
to familiarise him with the setup, run through his script, drill him
in the etiquette of a satellite link-up and coach him in the art of
using a prompting system whilst making it appear like he wasn't using
one! ("Conference
Autocue in 90 Minutes") We completed our task with just over a
minute to go before the link-up went live and our client delivered
a flawless presentation. Delighted with the results, this became the
first of several such presentations, ultimately saving the company
money by allowing this busy executive to maximise the use of his time.

Eagle Makes Waves
- Our client,
a prominent legal author, was struggling with lacklustre feedback
from his seminars, given to practices all over Europe. Whilst his
knowledge and expertise wasn't in doubt, he felt his presentations
lacked the necessary impact, especially when dealing with such a complex
subject. After a series of coaching sessions ("Fast-Track
Executive Coaching"), his first major presentation was a speech
at an international legal conference. Immediately after this event
we received an email from him, clearly thrilled, after the organisers
had described his presentation as "awesome!" Tickled by
this, he was further elated to discover that, amongst the group of
speakers appearing, delegates rated his speech the best.

Show Success
- Our regional
hairdressing group client was seeking greater recognition for its
talents. However, its young and nervous artistic team was struggling
with on-stage appearances and demonstrations of their work. After
we provided an intensive presentation skills masterclass - "Stand...and
Deliver!" - they were delighted with their debut appearance at
a large Wembley industry exhibition. This resulted in several invitations
to showcase their talents to their peers, as well as being contracted
to provide workshops on behalf of a leading hair product manufacturer.

Beautiful
Sales
- After a year
of internal upheaval, morale and sales were low in the European arm
of this leading, worldwide brand-name, cosmetics business. The main
problem was their salespeople were finding it hard to secure enough
high-traffic floor space in large department stores, making it hard
to compete with the better situated brands. Since their allocation
of sales space was decided at individual store level, the team had
to persuade a huge variety of personalities - from the department
manager at one store to a member of the board at another - in order
to get the floor space they were aiming for. After a recommendation,
we were engaged to provide a day and a half's training for their entire
team of national and regional sales managers during their twice-yearly
conference. Our seminar and workshop was a mixture of both presentation
and communication skills (with elements from both "Stand...and
Deliver!" and "Communication
Power!") with the goal of helping them deliver better presentations
of their case, as well as giving them the tools to be able to persuade
and influence the variety of in-store characters they'd come across.
Collectively described as "the best training session they'd ever
attended", we received a call from the Managing Director some
twelve weeks later. Floor space - and consequently sales figures -
had increased and the sales team had overwhelmingly asked for our
return at their next conference.
